Pi.Licio.us Project
What is it?

The Pi.Licio.us Project has four purposes:

  1. To Identify high-quality web resources that can be used to teach New York State Performance Indicators

  2. To Organize these web resources by tagging them with the Del.icio.us bookmarking tools

  3. To Encourage expert teachers and administrators to collaborate via social bookmarking and add web resources to the catalog.

  4. To Become a teacher's first stop when looking for high-quality web resources.
 How does it work?

  1. Create a del.icio.us account

  2. Download and install the del.icio.us tools for Firefox.  IE people - go here.

  3. When you find a high-quality web resource that you would like to use to teach a specific New York State Performance Indicator - share it with the group. Be sure to include:
    1. a Performance Indicator [PI]
    2. this tag [ for:btcactus ]
    3. and one of these tags [ PIELAReadListen, PIELASpeakWrite, PIMath, PIScience, PISocialStudies ]

  4. One of my graduate students or myself will add your site to one of these categories*:
    1. The Big Pool of Resources
    2. ELA - Reading and Listening
    3. ELA - Speaking and Writing
    4. Math*
    5. Science*
    6. Social Studies*
* Note - Math, Science and Social Studies will be changing over the next few months by becoming better organized.  For example, Social Studies tags will include PISocialStudies and one of these tags:
  • History of the United States & New York - tag: PIhistoryUSNY
  • World History - tag: PIWorldHistory
  • Geography - tag: PIGeography
